Jack Foust Lyman Lane:
I heard that the material coming out of the slag plant that you guys use
on the road is condemned because it has asbestos in it. Peruso- Not that
I know of. Heiple- do you have something in writing about this. Mr. Foust-
I can get it for you. Heiple- Yes we need something in writing because
it could be a rumor or it could be true and if it is true the Township
will do what is right. Mr.Foust: Talking about Lyman Lane, I know that
road was signed over to the Township years ago and you are saying it is
not your road. Peruso- Best of my knowledge it is not a Township Road,
I will check with the county to see if we took it over. Spanko-Russ if
you do maintenance on a road that is not yours doesn’t it become the Townships?
Heiple- If you do it continually then yes. Bob Ritchey- the State does
not approve the slag from that plant for use on the dirt and gravel road
program you can only use it in pipes.
Chris Selfridge- Status
on the pipe? Spanko- it is on its way. Peruso- We need permission to go
into the neighbor’s yard with the backhoe. Chris- I am sure he will give
it to you. Also what about the ad for the Veterans Memorial? Spanko- We
are good for right now. Chris- what about the stimulus money, the city
got a pile of it. Woznak- I went to a seminar on it and for most things
we do not qualify. There are a couple small things that the Fire Departments
may be interested in, but not us. Chris: What about windmills, does the
Township have any property that they may approach us and ask to put any
up? Peruso- yes we have some property. Chris- well it is something to look
into better to be proactive about these kinds of things.
Audrey Vojtowicz- did
you know we have an outdoor furnace right here? Spanko-who? Audrey- Bill
Corson. Vojtowicz- Never even knew it was there.
Vicki Svencer- Whatever
you sprayed those cow weeds with down on East Jackson Street made them
come up bigger than they were. My husband thinks you guys used miracle
grow. Bob Ritchey- They are going to be approving 2 chemicals to use on
those. 1 will not hurt the water and the other you can’t use around the
water. Call the Conservation District and get the name. Spanko- do you
need to be certified to use it? Bob Ritchey- No I don’t think so.

REPORT OF THE CHAIRPERSON-Mary Woznak
For the Refuse I have sent out 71 letters for past due Refuse bills and
to date I have collected $3850.67. 428.80 of that were payments from the
court. Some people have paid in full, some are on payment plans. I am still
sending out letters. The ones who don’t respond are where the money is
going to be because we have to send out certifies letters for a 10 day
payment. Audrey- Do you think that is feasible? Woznak- We have to. Audrey-
just post letters right on the property. That is what we do at the water
authority and that makes people come in and pay.
Also congratulations
to Art Thomson who was appointed to the Executive Committee for the
Sewage Enforcement Agency.
REPORT OF THE VICE-CHAIRMAN-Randy

REPORT OF THE BUILDING
SUPERVISOR-Bob Spanko
Nothing to report
Woznak- I would like
to say awesome job on the office. It looks great.
Spanko- The lighting
in the police station is terrible so I would like to purchase 5 new lights
for them. Peruso- he doesn’t need a motion for that because it is under
a certain amount. Vicki Svencer- no he doesn’t need a motion, he has it
in the budget so he can spend it.
ENVIROMENTAL REPORT-Bob
Ritchey
If you haven’t gotten
around to requesting the dry hydrant you might want to call them because
they may recall them. They are not hard to out in. A good place for one
would be Front Street in Mineral Point. So give Ron Piper a call at the
Conservation District. The kits come with everything you need.
I received an email from
DEP they are proposing to revise the storm water MS4 permit. So we may
need to update ours. They are having a meeting on this; I will email the
information to Shannan. But I don’t think it is going to have a big impact
on us.
