The meeting of June 12th, 2008 was called to order by Chairperson Mary Woznak. All stood and pledged allegiance to the Flag and observed a moment of silence for our Troops overseas.

Bob Ritchey: I have the DEP guidelines for treating mine drainage but I will have more information on the treatment for Saltlick soon. 

Dee Peruso: I see Frank apologized for missing the last few meetings and he is not here tonight. It used to be after 3 meetings you were out. He should resign if he is not going to be here.

Audrey Vojtowicz: Thanks to Bob for cleaning up back there.

Cambria County Township Officials meeting dates:  Spanko and Woznak to attend the July 9th, 2008 meeting

2008 Dirt and Gravel Annual Maintenance Workshop: Spanko and Peruso will consider going.

Bob Ritchey: Did you get the proposal done for the dirt and gravel road for Hinckston? Peruso stated that he is waiting for Bobbi to get back to him. Shannan said she will look into it.

Memo from Bob Ritchey on extension of Sewer Lines within the Township: Bob Ritchey: the DEP is getting very tough in these areas. They were limited in putting sewage in due to money and now more money is becoming available. Spanko stated it is our responsibility to let these residents know what is going on. Bob Ritchey stated that we should let the residents know that there are 2 options when it comes to sewage and what is going to happen if they do not tap in. It is going to be a problem with people septic systems.

Spanko suggested we put some kind of notification out to the residents that are not tapped into the sewage.

Motion to advertise the letter regarding sewage (after Bob Ritchey approves it) for 3 days in the newspaper made by Peruso. 2nd by Vojtowicz. Roll Call Vote: Peruso-Aye, Spanko -Aye       Vojtowicz-Aye, Woznak-Aye. 4 Ayes. Motion Carried.

Letter from Zoning Hearing Board are petitioning the Supervisors for the services of the Township Secretary for Zoning Hearing Board Variance Hearings. Motion to allow secretary to sit as secretary of the zoning hearing board made by Vojtowicz. 2nd by Peruso. 4 Ayes. Motion Carried.

Letter from Marilyn Roseman concerning rezoning:  Woznak: they are requesting some kind of response from us. They are complaining about the trailers parked there. Heiple stated he will send Birk Transfer a letter about the trailers being parked there and will send a copy to the Rosemans.

Natural Biodiversity requesting donation: Bob Ritchey stated that this group is assessing all the plants that grow in Cambria and Somerset County and trying to get rid of the invasive ones. Board: No to a donation.

Spanko: The Roller needed a new radiator; the Broom Truck needed new gears, got a couple loads of blacktop and filled holes. 
Mary Woznak: On Jackson Street down below weeds are bad. People can’t see. Spanko said he will take care of it this week. 

POLICE REPORT Randy Vojtowicz 
We had an incident here and one of our officers is going to be out for quite a long time so we are going to need to hire someone to cover the shifts.
Peruso: If we hire someone what about them joining the union?
Vojtowicz: yes they will have to join the union here, but we will let them know how it will be. We will have some stuff coming from the State Police they found the incident accidental but they have some safety concerns, so we are going to have to purchase some things for the Police Dept.

REPORT OF THE BUILDING SUPERVISOR-Frank Burns (Absent) Bob Spanko
1.) Got dusk to dawn lights out back. I will get one for up here.
2.) I also purchased an Air Conditioner for the meeting room.
3.) And I had one man come to talk to me about the Memorial and he will get with me next week. I would at least like to get the stones.
4.) I got 3 bids for the pole building. Peruso stated that we can’t do anything with them because we did not advertise. Heiple stated that we need to advertise and need at least 3 bids.

ENVIROMENTAL REPORT Bob Ritchey
Status Report on the Mineral Point correction, they have put the bride in, then they can start cutting the timber and start laying out the site. I am going to stop over next week to see what is going on.

SOLICITORS REPORT Russ Heiple
My suggestion is for us to get with JETSA about the Ordinance on dye testing that the Redevelopment Authority wants done when a property is being sold. Bob (Ritchey) are you inclined to get involved with this?
And also I got another call from the company that we got that weed spray from. Do we still have it?
Peruso: Yes, we have no one here certified to use it. Send them a letter telling them to come get it or we will donate it to PENNDOT.

OLD BUSINESS
1.) Resolution for our participation in Phase 1 of the DEP’s upgrading of lines into Dornick Point

NEW BUSINESS
Letter from Darlene Brown asking to be appointed on the Recreation Committee.
Shannan Kester also stated she would like to be appointed to be on the Recreation committee, stating that someone from the Township should be on the committee.
