The Municipal Water Authority
The Municipal Water Authority was originally
formed on July 25, 1957. By ordinance, the Authority was given approval
to purchase the properties of the Sunnyfield Water Authority on Sept 15,
1958. Shortly thereafter, a second water supply, the Woodvale Water System
was acquired from the Johnstown Water Company.
The functions of the Municipal Water Authority
are to provide installation of new water systems, water meters, replacing
old water lines, and installation and maintenance of of fire hydrants.
Currently there are 1,071 business and residential dwellings serviced by
the Municipal Water Authority.

JETSA
JETSA was formed in 1992 as a joint venture
between both municipalities. Cnstruction began in early 1997 and was completed
by June of 1998. A building was purchased to house the Authority at 2603
Wm Penn Avenue, Johnstown 15909.
